Personal Statement
Art
My artistic practice centres on painting as a way to explore perception, memory, and the emotional atmosphere of places and everyday life. Over time I have become increasingly interested in how colour, gesture, and layered surfaces can communicate experiences that are difficult to express through words. Painting allows me to reflect on personal observations and transform them into visual form.
I have continued to develop my artistic practice independently for many years. Through sustained experimentation with paint, materials, and composition, I have built a body of work that explores themes of landscape, atmosphere, and abstraction. My process often begins with observation or sketching, followed by a more intuitive approach in the studio where layers of colour and texture gradually shape the final image.
